The schools and teachers who were chosen to partner with the research team met a specific criteria. Each school and classroom needed to include students who had IEPs or were considered “at-risk” in other ways. Further, the participating teachers were all interested and excited about the use of EBPs in their classrooms and school communities. After being trained, the educators understood that they would be recorded utilizing the EBP techniques outlined in the research in order to illustrate the effectiveness of the strategies.
